About FileMonkey
FileMonkey sends files between two devices on the same wifi without email, cables or a cloud drive. One device shows a room code, the other types it, and the transfer goes directly between them with a checksum on every chunk. A short public STUN lookup helps the two devices find each other and can be switched off. I built it for the daily annoyance of getting a photo from a phone to a laptop sitting next to it.
Who
FileMonkey is built and looked after by Saurav Kumar Sharma, an independent developer in India. There is no company behind it and no team; if something breaks, the person who fixes it is the person who wrote it.
How it is built
Everything on this site runs inside your browser. Files you open stay on your device; there is no upload step and no server that could keep a copy. Drafts of the written guides are prepared with software help and then edited by hand; the measurements and examples come from running the tool.
